The Opposition Party is a project I cofounded along with Jason Kaulas, Michael Weimann, and Bryan Resendiz, which has grown over the years to include 10 musicians. The band was formed with the idea of creating a hybrid of the music we’ve grown up on (funk, jazz, etc.) and the music of Africa and Jamaica from the last 40-50 years. Of course, all these styles intertwined in history, and we’ve been tracing roots ever since.
Below are a few original tunes I wrote for the band, performed live, recorded by our sound engineer / guitarist Jason Kaulas, and mixed by Jason and myself.
